About Us:
Bernie Delaney (ALCM LGSMD) has been teaching Speech & Drama to children
from all over Dublin for over 40 years.
Bernie provides classes for children of all ages from as young as 3.
Bernie's classes are renowned for fun filled days and memories that last a life
time. Bernie would love to hear from anybody who would like to learn more about
class times and availability.
The school is truly a family run business with Bernie's son Darragh now teaching in the school.
Bernie's daughters Aisling & Aoife provide invaluable assistance & support during the Summer productions.
Classes are held in the Marino room in the grounds of the Church of St.
Vincent de Paul, Griffith Avenue, Marino, Dublin 9.
It is widely accepted that involvement in the arts, especially in theatre,
is enormously beneficial to children of all ages.
To that end, Bernie established ‘The Bernie Delaney (A.L.C.M.&D. &
L.G.S.M.&D.) School of Speech and Drama’ soon after she qualified as a
teacher back in 1983.
Bernie currently holds an Associate Teaching Diploma from the London College
of Music & Drama and a Licentiate Teaching Diploma from the Guildhall
School of Music & Drama.
Drama builds character and boosts individual self-esteem. Our classwork
fosters empathy and helps children to develop skills such as creativity and
imagination, resilience, kindness and co-operation.
Our School Policy is, and always has been, completely ‘Child Centred’. Every
child is welcomed with open arms and is cherished regardless of their ability,
gender or nationality.
